Banish Facial Wrinkles With Botox Injections
Botox Injections For Wrinkles
In the past few years Botox injections have become one of the most popular methods of reversing the signs of aging such as facial wrinkles.
Botox injections involve the injection of Botulinum bacteria under the surface of the skin.
The effect is the paralysis of certain facial muscles, which subsequently firms and tightens the skin whilst also helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the face.
Botox injections are usually given between the eyebrows to reduce furrows between the eyebrows, on the forehead to reduce forehead wrinkles, the corners of the mouth to reduce mouth wrinkles and the corners of the eyes to reduce the appearance of wrinkles around the eyes (crow’s feet).

A typical Botox treatment session can last anywhere from 10-30 minutes depending on the area that needs to be treated, and it can take 2-3 days before you see the full results.
How Long Do Botox Injections Last?
Botox injections typically produce results that last for four to six months.
This means that if you want to maintain the results Botox gives you, you will require regular treatments.
Usually two or three treatments a year are required to keep your skin wrinkle free.
What Are The Side Effects Of Botox Injections?
As with any injection you may experience bruising of the skin or skin inflammation which can leave your face looking red for a few days.

Some temporary side effects include drooping of the eyebrows or eyelids which can last three to six months. Drooping is most likely to occur when you have been treated by an inexperienced person.
Another possible temporary side effect of Botox injections is double vision, although this is a relatively rare occurrence.
At present there are no known long term side effects that come from Botox injections.
However you should not have Botox injections if you have muscular dystrophy, an allergy to albumin or Botulinum toxin or are pregnant or breastfeeding.
If you are taking any kind of medication it is worth checking with your doctor before you decide to get treated, as some medicines may react badly with Botox.
Post Botox Care
After your Botox treatment you can’t lie down for four hours, nor can you massage the treated muscles. Otherwise the Botox can spread to the muscles around the eye area.
Every 15 minutes you need to exercise the injected muscles for an hour after treatment for best results. This is because Botox attaches best to muscles which are active/being used.
The better the Botox is allowed to work, the greater will be the reduction in the appearance of wrinkles and the firmer your skin will be.
How Much Botox Do You Need?
Whilst Botox can certainly help to make your face look younger, firmer and wrinkle free, it is important that your face retains a natural look.
There is nothing worse than getting too much Botox and then having no expression on your face for the next few months.

Botox should be used to address certain areas of your face, but should still leave you able to express yourself through your face. If you are not able to do this you will appear dull, boring and uninterested to others.
If you find that you are requiring increasing more Botox injections across your face, then you may want to consider a surgical face lift instead as this will give you better results.
How Much Do Botox Injections Cost?
How much Botox injections cost depends on who you go to and the area that needs to be treated. Although generally you can expect prices to range from $250 to $500 per Botox injection.
