Brainwashing The Subconscious Mind

  • New information has the ability to alter previously stored information.
  • The subconscious mind never stops recording new information.
  • This principle was used to brainwash American soldiers during the Korean war.

As you grow older your subconscious mind stores more and more information, constantly comparing newly acquired information with what has already been stored.

This information can then be accepted by your subconscious mind, or rejected depending on how important it is seen by your subconscious.

Most of the time however you will find that the subconscious likes to stick with its old beliefs, because it views that information as the most important.

As a result, if you want to change your life for the better and remove these old limiting subconscious beliefs, you will need to “force” new positive beliefs into your subconscious mind by learning how to influence it.

This is essentially a form of mind programming, and is what we shall touch upon in this article.

Frequently Entered Information Can Modify The Subconscious Mind

If as a child you were put down frequently by other people, then it is very likely that you will have acquired negative subconscious beliefs which will cause you to feel inadequate as an adult.

This occurs because information that is frequently entered into the subconscious mind, tend to be accepted by the subconscious as true. Regardless of whether that information has a positive or negative impact on your life.

What this means is that unless those beliefs are overridden, those beliefs will continue to dedicate how you think and feel about yourself and the things you do in life.

For example, even if you had a bad childhood, if later on you receive lots of positive reinforcement from other people then your subconscious mind will slowly change in accordance with those beliefs.

As a result, you will start to think differently which will cause you to feel differently which will then cause you to act differently.

The trouble is however, that not all people who have negative beliefs in their subconscious mind will receive enough positive reinforcement throughout their life for those beliefs to change.

This is why it is extremely important for you to take action to modify and influence your own subconscious mind, so that you can change the direction your life is going for the better.

Programming The Subconscious Mind

One way to modify the subconscious is to surround yourself with people who have a positive influence on your life, people who will encourage you, support you, love you and believe in you.

But realistically people like this are hard to find, as most people tend to be jealous of other people’s success and putting down others makes them feel good.

So when it comes to modifying your subconscious mind, you are really the only person who you can count on.

Note : The picture given above is a good visual example of how learning how to influence your subconscious mind can change your life.

When you influence your subconscious mind using various techniques, you will erase the subconscious barriers that are preventing you from going a certain direction in life.

Once those barriers have been erased, your life will take a completely new direction for the better.

Brainwashing The Subconscious Mind

A well known example of how the subconscious mind can be modified can be found with ‘Brainwashing’.

This is something which first came to public attention during the Korean War, when American soldiers were ‘Brainwashed’ into believing America was now the enemy.

Using numerous subconscious mind influencing techniques, the Koreans replaced the soldier’s belief that America was good with a belief that America was bad, by repeatedly exposing the soldiers to Korean propaganda.

Once their subconscious mind had been modified, the American soldiers began to think differently and act differently to how they used to before.

This modification of the subconscious mind is what you should be aiming for, because once you are successful at doing it the subconscious barriers that have been holding you back will no longer stop you from achieving the things you want out of life.

can it enhance my memory and learning?

  2. anonymous user Says:

@David - I would say yes, reprogramming your subconscious can help with memory and learning. Keep in mind that this is my own opinion, so it should be taken with a grain of salt. If you don’t think you can remember something, or learn something new, then you are less likely to. It can’t hurt to get motivated. Another thing to keep in mind is that you want to build a strong connection with your subconscious. Most adults have the same subconscious development as a three year old (or some I’ve been told).

Again, this is what I think. You might want a second opinion though. I’m no expert.

how does saying the words “I AM” as spirituality coaches ask you to repeat, effect the subconscious mind? Why do they ask you to do this but withhold why they want you to do it? Why meditate the words “I AM”? …confused…

  4. Martin Says:

I dont think they deliberately withhold the meaning from you Mike, have you asked before and been refused an answer?

If you are trying to programme a certain belief into your mind, using the words “I Am” speaks directly to you. Its better than any other alternative you could use, as it personally addresses you.

As far as i’m aware there is not much more to it than that.

I can see that all the articles written by Martin are orginal. They are very helpful and insightful. Thank you, Martin!

This is great material! Keep it up!

  7. mike Says:

Yes i have asked them why they ask us to meditate “I am” and they (a holistic doctor and a New Spirituality guru) both tell me to not question it and just do it. I tell them i do but im a very analytical thinker and i question everything.
You say that using “I am” speaks directly to me and that its better than any alternative i could use to program a certain belief in my mind. My question is “WHAT” is directly speaking to me when i meditate the words “I am” Im thinking that they are training my mind to believe that i’m God? But they dont come straight out and tell me that. So.. if i do continue to meditate “I am” into my mind are you saying that it’s the “Better” alternative to getting my mind to accept something as a truth? even something such as i’m a god?

  8. Martin Says:

    Mike,

You are doing the right thing by wanting to know why you are doing something, before you do it.

I do not believe people should do things, just because someone else tells them they should do it. This is how we acquire limiting negative beliefs, by accepting things other people tell us as true without taking the time to investigate them for ourselves.

Truthfully i don’t have an answer to your question. To me using “I am” makes sense because i am trying to reprogramme myself. “I” is as personal as you can get. Unless you can think of a better alternative?

So the “what” that is speaking to you is you.

I don’t know why you would think saying “I am” is programming your mind to believe you are God? It is just a prefix used to communicate a message. What that message is, will then determine what you programme into your mind.

A great book about this is the “four agreements ” The book discusses this sort of topic through more spiritual means.
