Exercise For Busy People

Exercise Without Exercising

One of the most common excuses people give for not exercising is not having enough time to exercise. However even if you do have an extremely busy day, you can probably still findĀ the time to fit some exercise in.

One way to do this is to keep a diary of the things you normally do in your free time. For example, do you spend your free time on the computer? Watching TV? Or listening to music?

If you are really serious about getting into shape and losing weight, then these are ideal times when you could be exercising.

At the end of the week, have a look at your diary and then decide what times would be best for you to exercise.

If you can find at least 30 minutes to exercise three or four times a week, you will be well on your way to getting yourself into excellent shape.

You Don’t Have To Go To A Gym To Loose Weight

Another idea to help you fit exercise into your week is to multitask.

This involves doing two activities at once, and is an excellent way to introduce more exercise into your life without it seeming like exercise.

Here are some ideas on how you can do this.

Exercise And Charity

If a lot of your time is spent helping charity organisations, then doing some sort of sponsored activity can help you to kill two birds with one stone.

For example, doing a sponsored bike ride or a sponsored swim means you not only get fit but you also serve your favourite charity at the same time.

In addition to this, because you’re exercising for a good cause you are likely to take it much more seriously and be committed to it.

Exercise InĀ A Team

If meeting new people and making friends is important to you, then joining the company sports team is a good way you can fulfill this need whilst also fulfilling your need to exercise.

This has the added advantage of giving you the opportunity to make new friends at work, and also to improve your teamwork skills at the same time. Both of these will help to build your confidence levels.

Do Errands For Exercise

If you frequently do errands for people, such as getting lunch for your co-workers, then choosing a supermarket which is within 10 to 15 minutes walking distance can help you to burn off some extra calories throughout the day.

Exercise And Love

Going to the gym or joining a sports club will help you to meet many new people, and also give you the opportunity of meeting someone special.

Sports such as tennis or ice-skating, can make a great first date and help to take the awkwardness out the situation.

So if you are looking for love, get off the computer and go out into the real world and meet real people.

Even if you don’t find love, you are still likely to make friends which can help to motivate you and keep you focused on achieving your exercise goals.

Helping Friends For Exercise

If you have a friend or family member who has just moved into a new house, or is moving out of their house, then offering to help them carry their stuff can be an excellent opportunity for a good workout.

Not only will you burn some fat and tone up your muscles, but you will also score points with your friends and your family because you will be seen as a helpful person.

Dogs And Exercise

If you need a reason to start exercising, getting a dog may be the reason you have been looking for. Dogs require walking every day, and ideally should be walked at least twice a day.

So not only will you have a friendly companion, but you will also get some valuable cardiovascular exercise as well.

Start with short walks so both you and your dog can get used to the habit of walking. Later try to walk for at least 30 minutes each time you take the dog out, and extend that for as long as you feel comfortable with.

In addition to the health benefits walking will give you, pets have been shown to reduce stress levels which will help you to live longer and lower your risk of cardiovascular disease.
