Forehead Face Exercises

The facial exercises on this page can help you to reduce forehead wrinkles and make your forehead skin look and feel tighter. Face exercises are designed to tone up the muscles underneath your skin which has a skin tightening effect, and so also helps to reduce sagging skin.

However, it can take anywhere from 1-3 months before you start to notice results, and you need to keep on working out your face if you want to maintain the results that you get.

But this isn’t really too much of a bother anyway, as you can quite easily fit a whole face workout session that includes your eyebrows, eyes, cheeks, jowls, mouth and neck into about 10-20 minutes.

So if you do this first thing in the morning or last thing at night, you will easily be able to incorporate facial exercises into the anti-aging skin care routine that you normally do.

Also, it doesn’t really matter that much if you miss a day occasionally, just that you are able to keep on doing your facial exercises on a consistent basis.

Some people find that they prefer to do their face exercises every other day, as this gives their muscles a chance to recover from the previous workout session. So see how your muscles react and then find a routine that you are happy with and will stick with for the long term.

Skin Care For Facial Exercises

Below you will find a series of face lift exercises that are designed to tone up and strengthen the muscles in your forehead and your eyebrows.

As with any exercise you do for the face, it is best to lightly moisturize your skin before doing a face lifting exercise to ensure that your skin is not overly dry.

When doing these face exercises, please make sure that you have clean hands as you will be touching your face. If you plan on washing your face afterwards, such as by cleansing and toning it, then you don’t need to worry too much about having overly clean hands.

In general, it is better to do face lifting exercises before you start your regular skincare routine. The reason for this is that by doing face exercises you will increase blood flow and circulation to your facial skin. This will then help you to better absorb the beneficial ingredients of your face cream.

Forehead Face Exercise

Exercising your forehead muscles can be very beneficial in helping you to maintain a younger looking appearance. When your forehead starts to sag it can also contribute to your upper eyelids sagging, which can then make your face look old and tired.

By keeping your forehead skin nice and tight, you can therefore help to maintain a brighter and more awake look to your face without having to undergo a surgical procedure such as a face lift.

• Place one finger horizontally across the top of each eyebrow and pull down slightly.

• Raise your eyebrows working against the resistance created by the weight of your fingers.

• Hold momentarily, and then lower your eyebrows again.

Repeat 20 times.

This is actually a very simple and effective sequence to exercise your forehead muscles. You will know when you have done it correctly as you should feel a slight “burn” at the end of your set. This is a build up of lactic acid, and if you rub your skin gently where you feel the burn it will quickly disappear.

You can also end this forehead exercise by holding your last lift for 10 seconds.

Note: Everyone has certain lines on their face which occur as a result of their most dominant expressions. These are referred to as “character lines” or “expression lines”, and you probably won’t be able to get rid of them completely although you may be able to reduce their appearance somewhat.

Expression lines tend to be much deeper than regular wrinkles, so if you are bothered by such lines on your face, then you may want to consider cosmetic surgery and filling in those deep lines with a dermal filler such as collagen or restylane.

Alternate Method 1

• Place four fingers of each hand across the top of each eyebrow.

• Repeat as per instructions given above.

The advantage of using this method is that it is easier to get your fingers around the curvature of your eyebrows and to create more resistance.

However, because in this position you will have your hands over your eyes, it can be harder for you to see what you are doing.

Alternate Method 2

• Place four fingers vertically at the sides of the forehead, just above the end of your eyebrows and in front of your temples.

• Stretch your forehead tight.

• Raise and lower your eyebrows.

• Repeat 20 times.

The following video shows this forehead face yoga exercise in more detail.

Face Exercise For Skin Between Your Eyebrows

This face exercise is helpful for people who have wrinkles or fine lines between their eyebrows. This is something which tends to happen in people who frown a lot.

This exercise can be especially beneficial for those who have lines or marks between their eyebrows, as such lines can cause a person to look angry or unhappy even though they are not.

• Place four fingers horizontally across each eyebrow.

• Pull the eyebrows away from each other.

• Try to bring your eyebrows together working against the resistance created by your fingers.

• Repeat 20 times.

This sequence can be a little tricky to master, but the basic idea is to try and pull your eyebrows apart with your fingers and then bring them together. After a few reps, you will probably be able to feel the lactic acid burn, so rub the middle of your forehead to provide some relief.

Over time you should notice an improvement in the appearance of your eyebrow and forehead area, although the type of improvement you see will largely depend on the condition of your skin to begin with.
