How To Use Goals And A Plan To Overcome Fear

  • Make sure you are prepared for any outcome.
  • Turn failure into success!
  • Use goals to overcome your fears!

In any fear causing situation, ask yourself what’s the worse thing that could happen? Then take some time to develop alternatives, so you are ready with another course of action no matter what happens.

A good example of this can be seen in the military. All good generals will have a primary battle strategy, but they will also have several other backup strategies should circumstances change.

This allows them to be prepared for any outcome, and in military history, many potential defeats have been turned into victory because of these plans.

Courage Comes From Having Control

Remember, courage is about control. If you are prepared for any outcome you will have that control, and the courage that goes with it.

However if you are unprepared should things suddenly change, you will loose that control, and gain fear instead.

Use Goals To Overcome Your Fears

In addition to your plan you should also have intensely desired goals (I will discuss in the next article how to increase your intensity of desire for those goals).

Goals will give you focus and direction, allowing you to take your life in the direction you want it to go, rather than going from day to day being blown around like a leaf in the wind.

In Brief - Always consider multiple possibilities and have backup plans, so that you can take the best course of action when it is needed and be ready for anything that comes your way.

I enjoyed your information, I just would have love to be able to use some of it. There are no cite reference so that I can give credit.
If that is available that would be great, if not it is good reading.
