Success Notes - Page 2
• Success comes from setting priorities on the most important things in your life, and then concentrating single mindedly on one thing at a time.
• It is natural in life or business for there to be up and down times, these will fluctuate. You need to maintain a long term perspective of 4-5 years ahead, and this will help your overall trend to be onwards and upwards rather than being distracted by the short term down times.
• Develop a reputation for speed and people will come to you for the things they want.
• The more you give of yourself without expectation of return, the more that will come back to you from the most unexpected sources.
• Everything in life has to do with people, and there will either be someone there to help you or hinder you. The more people you know in life, the more successful you will become.
• People become successful by taking calculated risks. You can double your success rate by doubling your failure rate.
• The more active you are in pursuing success the more challenges you will face along the way. You can expect every 2-3 months for there to be a difficult challenge for you to face. Be determined in advance to never give up, and those challenges will make you a stronger person.
• The more you learn the more you increase your capacity to learn.
• Ask yourself, what kind of company would this company be if everyone in it was just like me.
• There are no limits to what you can accomplish except the limits that you place on yourself.
• There is a relationship between high levels of physical fitness and increased productivity and energy. The better shape you are in, the better you will perform in all areas of your life.
• To perform at your best you need to take 1 full day off each week, and 2 full weeks of each year.
• Your ability to stick with something and see it through to completion is a major determinant of the amount of success you will achieve in life. Finish the things you start.
• Successful people are concerned with results, unsuccessful people are concerned with perfecting methods.
• The things in your life which will add the most value to it are usually the hardest things, and also usually the things you will put off the most.
• The inability to throw stuff away usually comes as a result of a poor childhood, or a parent with a poor childhood.
• You can only get your life under control to the degree in which you discontinue lower value activities.
• Decide what you want out of life and then determine the steps you will need to take to get it. Then work single mindedly on that task until you complete it.
• Knowing what you now know would you do what you are currently doing again? If not, then do something else because you are wasting your life on something you don’t enjoy or adds no real value to your life.
• Unless you really enjoy what you do it will be very difficult for you to find the passion to reach the very top of your field.
• It is during the difficult times that your true character is revealed.
• Do 2 hours more work than the average person and you will put yourself in the top few percent.
• Work all the time you work, and do not waste time.
• Average people only do what is asked of them and nothing more. If you do more than is expected of you people will soon notice you.
• The people who get the most out of life are the people who ask. They ask others how they can get what they want.
• When you make a promise keep it, when you say you will do something do it and remain loyal to people otherwise you will lose your integrity.
• Always demonstrate loyalty to the person who signs your paycheck.
• Look at where you are now and where you want to be in the future. Then work to reduce this gap.
• The best way to predict the future is to create it.
• The more future orientated you are the more you will be paid, the more in control of your life you will feel and the better decisions you will make.
