Did You Fail To Lose Weight On Your Last Diet?

Why People Break Their Diet

Although it can take 7-14 days for food withdrawal symptoms to disappear once you stop eating a food you are addicted to, it can take up to 1 year for food cravings to be completely eliminated.

Unfortunately, as long as these food cravings remain, dieting and loosing weight will be much harder for you.

However there are certain things that can trigger these food cravings, and once you are aware of them, you will be better equipped to deal with and prevent future food cravings.

This should then help you to stick to your diet, and eventually lose the weight you have been trying to shift.

Here are the two main factors that can cause people to break their diet.

Chemicals & Dieting

chemicals allergies

Certain chemicals such as traffic fumes, crop sprays and cigarette smoke can all trigger food cravings.

Chemicals in cosmetics can also have the same affect, as they are absorbed through the skin directly into the body.

It is estimated that the average woman absorbs around 1kg (2 pounds) of cosmetics through her skin each year, full of chemicals. That’s the equivalent of 1 large bag of sugar being absorbed through the skin each year!

Therefore if you are dieting and trying to lose weight, it is important to eliminate chemicals from your life as much as possible.

Hypoglycemia & Dieting

sugar diet

Hypoglycemia means low blood sugar (glucose), and the brain needs glucose as a source of energy.

If the brain doesn’t get enough glucose the body will send out warning signals, and this is when you usually say “I would kill for a bar of chocolate”.

So when your blood sugar is low you will start to crave sugary food, and this is why people give in to the ice cream or chocolate they have been trying so hard to avoid on their diet.

Don’t Let Your Blood Sugar Drop When Dieting

The best way to deal with hypoglycemia is to tackle it before it occurs, by making sure you have something to eat before your blood sugar gets too low.

This is an important point to remember, because it is one of the most common reasons why people fail to stick to their diet and lose weight.

So if you are dieting, try to snack throughout the day and avoid skipping meals so that your blood sugar doesn’t drop to a level where you start to crave food.

Dieting Doesn’t Mean Living A Sterile Toxic Free Life

Whilst it is true that certain food can cause withdrawal symptoms in people and cause them to crave foods when they are on a diet, the good news is that you don’t have to eliminate everything that is bad for you from your life. This is because the body is designed to deal with some degree of stress.

It is only when the body gets overloaded with toxins and bad foods, does it start to break down and develop diseases.

This is known as the body load, and the first thing to be affected are your organs. Some of the most common organs to be affected are the brain (depression), the skin (rashes) and the bowel (diarrhea).

So a long as you can lower the burden on your body to below the body load, you can occasionally treat yourself with “junk food” even when you are dieting.

So please don’t feel paranoid about living a germ and toxin free life, otherwise you won’t be able to do anything and your quality of life will suffer.

In fact exposure to germs and dirt can actually be good for you, as they will stimulate the immune system keeping it strong and healthy thereby making you more resistant to disease.
