UPDATE
May 27th 2015
This page originally had a collection of about 30 Jack Lalanne face exercise videos which were on YouTube. Unfortunately, these videos have been taken down.
Even though the videos are now gone, I have decided to keep this page active because I wrote a description of what Jack talked about underneath each video. There are no other descriptions of the videos available online, so at least with this page active Jack’s knowledge won’t be totally lost.
It’s a shame really, because the videos were great to watch, and they helped keep Jack’s memory alive by allowing new generations of people to learn something from a man who they may never even have heard of before, were it not for those videos.
I hope some of you Jack fans still find this useful, thanks for visiting.

The face exercise videos on this page are from the Jack Lalanne show which ran from 1951-1985. The show covered a wide range of physical fitness and mental health subjects, although these particular videos just deal with facial muscle exercise.
Doing these face exercises 3-4 times a week will help to tone up your face and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. They do this by strengthening the muscles underneath your skin so that it doesn’t sag.
If you can stop your skin from sagging, you can help to maintain a youthful looking appearance for much longer than you otherwise would because sagging skin is one of the major signs and causes of visible facial aging.
Note: You can find a complete guide to facial exercise here.
Update: Sadly, Jack Lalanne passed away at the age of 96. He was a remarkable person who was always so full of energy, and he seemed like a genuinely nice person too. It’s a shame that he’s gone, but at least he was able to live a long and fruitful life and benefit many other lives in the process. Hopefully, these videos will allow him to continue to do that.
Jack Lalanne Face Exercise Video Transcripts
Here are all the Jack Lalanne face exercise videos that I could find on YouTube. Listed below each video is a short description/transcription of what that video is about.

When your facial muscles are out of shape this can lead to sagging jowls, sagging cheeks and wrinkles around the eyes. Just like you can firm up your stomach muscles with exercise, so can you do the same for your face.

Open your mouth as wide as you can then close and purse your lips tight together. With your lips tight, move your mouth from side to side.
To exercise the muscles around the eyes, put your index fingers in each outer corner of the eye and close your eyes working against the resistance of your fingers. Good for preventing crows feet.
Put your fingers underneath your brows and pull your brow down against the resistance of your fingers.
Open and close your eyes and mouth at the same time. Finish by patting your face with your hands for a beauty treatment par excellence!

Face exercises to firm up the muscles in your face and make yourself look more youthful fast.
Open mouth wide and purse your lips. Move your mouth from side to side and hold for a second or so on each side.
For girls who want to get rid of or prevent a saggy neck line, tilt your head back and turn the corners of your mouth down like you were doing and upside down smile. You will know when you are doing this correctly as you will feel the muscles in your neck tightening and you will be able to see them if you were looking in a mirror.
In the same position with your mouth in an upside down smile, turn your head from side to side to workout the neck muscles even more.
Just as the video cuts off Jack starts talking about an exercise to keep your hands looking young.
To do the hand exercise, put your hands down at your sides or in front of you and open your hands as much as possible stretching your fingers out, then close your hands into a tight fist. This is a great exercise to do whilst you are toning up your neck.
4
Face exercise for the chin and neckline.
Look up to the ceiling, open your mouth and move your head from side to side. Put your jaw in the heal of your hand and lower your jaw working against the resistance of your palm. Be careful not to bite your tongue!
Jack talks about making funny faces to use the muscles in the face because if you don’t use them they will start to weaken.
Eye vision exercises to improve eyesight.
Look at something far away in the distance and then look at your finger close to you. Look from side to side, either at something in the room or at your fingers positioned to the sides of your eyes.
Bend over so that your head is lower than your heart. This will allow blood to rush to the head and benefit your eyes, skin and hair. Good blood circulation is the secret to life. Whilst bent over gently pat your face to finish.
Whilst standing or sitting, put your chin down onto your chest and then move your head from side to side.
For your shoulders and posture to help get rid of nervous tension, stand up, put your arms up to your sides and then move them around in a circular fashion as though you were making small circles in the air.

Face exercises to achieve a youthful looking firm and athletic face for men and women. Open mouth wide and close. Purse your lips and turn your mouth from side to side.
For those who have wrinkles around the mouth due to sagging skin.
Take your index fingers and put them in the inside corner of your mouth like fish hooks. Gently pull the mouth apart but do not stretch the mouth muscles. Close your mouth working against the resistance of your fingers. This is a good exercise for firming up the mouth area and can be used as a free alternative to the facial flex face exerciser.
To firm up the neck and get rid of a turkey neck.
Put chin on chest and open mouth, then turn head from side to side. Open real wide and push down hard. You have to make an effort with this one. Open your eyes wide and close tightly. Finish by making silly faces!

Put heal of hand underneath chin and push downwards with your mouth. Push up with your hand whilst lowering your lower jaw.
Mouth exercising with open and close mouth exercise.
Bend over and gently pat your face.
7
Lying down on the floor for neck and chin line exercise. If you neglect the muscles in the neck, throat and chin you will look older than your years. This is an area of the body that many people tend to neglect when exercising their body.
Put your chin on your chest and turn your head from side to side. Can also be done with mouth open for an extra workout.
8
To exercise the back of your neck, lie down on a chair and then lift your head up and down. Now twist your head from side to side.

11
Stand behind a chair and lean forward over the back of it so that your hands are on the seat, lift your head up and down to exercise the back of your neck.
12
Face exercises for the neck and chin line.
Put the fingers of one hand in the centre of your forehead. Tilt your head back and forward working against the resistance created by your fingers. Don’t move your body, just your head. You want to apply some resistance, but do not push too hard.
You can make this exercise harder and get better results by tensing up your neck muscles as you move your head up and down.
This is good for increasing blood circulation, getting rid of nervous tension and making the neck look younger.
Jack recommends that you do this in the mornings.
13
Use a book to firm up your chin line and neckline.
Lie down face up across a chair. Put a book in your mouth and lift your head up towards your chest and then back down towards the floor. Now turn your head from left to right to exercise all of your neck muscles.
Biting down on a book will also help to tighten up the muscles on the sides of your face and prevent saggy jowls giving you a nice smooth look and contoured appearance.
14
Face exercises for a flabby chin line and neckline. Unlike fat on the rest of the body which can be hidden with clothes, you can’t hide the fat on your face and neck so it is important to exercise this area to keep it trim.
Lying down on the floor, lift your head up towards your chest and try to touch your chest with your chin. Now with your chin on your chest, try to turn your head from left to right.
Practice this a few times a day and you will have a much better chin and neckline fast.
For advanced students, Jack recommends doing the above exercise but this time with the fingers of one hand pressed against your forehead to create resistance and your neck muscles kept tense.
Good for relaxing and increasing blood circulation to the head.
15
Something for the skin, eyes and hair by increasing blood circulation to the head.
Either standing up or sitting down move your head around in a circle going clockwise and then anticlockwise. Hold onto something if you start to feel dizzy whilst doing this.
Now pull your head back as far as you can, then push your chin down into your chest.
Standing up, try to look behind you to the left and then to the right without moving your body.
16
Increase blood circulation to the head and benefit your hair.
Sitting down in a chair, bend forward so that your head is low towards the floor. In this position you can gently pat your face to increase blood circulation to the skin and tone up the facial muscles.
You can use a hairbrush to brush your hair in this position to increase scalp blood circulation and make your hair look more alive. Alternatively, you can use your fingers to give yourself a scalp massage.
Now something for the face.
Open your mouth as widely as possible and slowly purse your lips. With your lips together move your mouth from side to side.
Open your eyes and mouth at the same time. Tense everything up tightly and relax.
These movements can be done fast and slow and by doing them you are exercising the muscles around the mouth and eye areas.
Finish by bending over your chair and gently patting your face. If you have a mirror, look to see if your face looks red or has more color to it as this will indicate improved blood circulation to the face.
Jack then uses a “glamor stretcher” which is basically a thick elastic band to strengthen the mouth muscles.
17
New mothers and expectant mothers want to keep their looks for as long as possible, but due to not exercising their facial muscles, their skin can start to sag and they lose their looks prematurely. But this doesn’t have to happen if you start exercising the facial musculature system.
Open your mouth as wide as you can and purse your lips, repeat several times, and then move your mouth from side to side with your lips closed.
Now for something for around the eyes and around the mouth.
Open your eyes and mouth as wide as you can, then close your eyes and mouth tightly. Now try tensing all the muscles in your face and neck by doing silly faces.
Now finish off by leaning forward and bending over your chair whilst patting your face to increase blood circulation to the hair, skin, eyes and teeth.
This is good to do before you go to bed and when you wake up in the morning.
18
Jack talks about an exercise in his Exercise Guide To Facial Beauty that reveals how to exercise all the 55 muscles in the face for a firmer more youthful looking face.
Make a fist and put it underneath your chin. Without moving your head, drop your lower jaw so that you are pushing down against your fist. This can also be done with the palm of your hand.
19
Face exercises to firm up the bust line, throat and prevent you from getting a double chin.
Lie down on your back across the seat of a chair. Scoot back so that you can move your arms freely to the sides of your body.
Extend your arms out to your sides and lift them up and then back down again. This exercises the muscles in the chest area to firm up your bust line. As you are lifting your arms, lift your head up at the same time to workout your chin and throat area.
Be careful when getting off your chair.
The video ends with Jack on his knees on the floor. You can further workout your neck by lifting your head up and down and then side to side in this position.
20
This last face exercise video shows Jack doing mouth exercises. Open mouth wide and close tightly.
Open mouth and keep it open as you lift your head up and down and then later from side to side.
Jack says that you can’t get a flabby neck if you do these exercises regularly, and if you make sure that you are getting enough protein into your diet to keep everything firm.
21
Facial exercises for firming up the neck and chin line.
Start by putting your chin on your chest as tight as you can and then turn your head from left to right keeping your head as tight as you can to your chest.
Now open your mouth as wide as you can and move your head down towards your chest and then up towards the ceiling. When you are looking up you can turn your neck from side to side for an extra workout.
Now something for toning up the face muscles.
Open your mouth and eyes as wide as you can and then close them tightly. If you put your hands on your face you should be able to feel your facial muscles tense up just like how your biceps tense up when you do bicep curls.
Jack says that if you are able to firm up the muscles on your face that you will be able to look 10 years younger than your current age.
Jack then moves on to talk about the importance of having a good blood supply in the body because that is what provides your body with the minerals, vitamins and proteins that it needs to build and heal itself and that this comes from eating a healthy nutritious diet.
You can “shoot” an extra amount of blood into your face by bending over and gently patting your face to increase facial blood supply and circulation. Tap gently around the eyes, the temples, the forehead, the cheekbones and all over the rest of your face. Finish by breathing in deeply and then blowing out.
22
Facial exercise to firm up the jaw muscles.
Jack says that when people get older and they haven’t worked out their muscles, they get saggy and flabby in their jowls.
For a more beautiful face, puff out your cheeks as far as you can and then suck them back in again.
Next, to firm up the mouth and get rid of wrinkles around the mouth area. Open mouth wide and then close tightly pursing your lips.
To get rid of a double chin. Open your mouth wide, put your chin on your chest and then turn your head from side to side.
23
Jack shows the fan-shaped muscle of the neck and talks about how when it starts to accumulate fat it can cause a person to look years older than they actually are.
Tensing the muscles of the neck reveals these string like neck muscles. If you do this several times a day you will help to maintain a youthful looking face and neck.
Jack does this facial exercise by holding each tension for a count of 5 seconds.
24
In this face exercise video Jack is lying on the floor with his legs raised vertically up on the back of a chair. This assists venous blood flow back down the body and is helpful for getting rid of any swelling that you may have in your legs.
In this position you can exercise your neck and throat area by lifting your head up off the ground and onto your chest several times.
To exercise your chin, open your mouth, touch your chest with your chin and then quickly open and close your mouth almost as if you were chewing on something.
25
Jack says he will give you one of the finest beauty treatments that you can ever have for a beautiful face with tight and glowing skin.
Start by opening and closing your mouth quickly, then closing your mouth and moving it quickly from side to side.
Now tense everything in your face as tightly as you can, then open your eyes and mouth wide. Now tense the neck muscles several times, and then put your head down towards your chest and turn it from side to side.
Once you have done this, bend over and tap your face to increase the blood circulation to your skin. If you are doing this properly, you should notice an increase in color in your face.
Jack finishes by taking a few deep breaths and exhaling.
26
Facial exercises for tighter skin and a less flabby face.
To tighten up the jowls, open up your mouth as wide as you can and then purse your lips together tightly. After this, with your mouth closed move your lips from side to side.
Next to firm up the chin line, put your chin on your chest, open your mouth and turn your head from side to side. Put your chin in tight to your chest so that your neck muscles contract.
Jack says that the secret after doing face exercises is to bend over so that your head is lower than your heart. This allows new blood to rush into face, take away old waste material and allow the new blood to help build new cells so that it will firm up your face and make you look younger. Jack pats his face whilst he is in this position.
27
Standing up, Jack moves his head from side to side as though he were looking behind himself to exercise the muscles on the sides of the neck.
He then does a nodding head action by looking up at the ceiling and then back down again towards the floor. If you have a double chin or sagging skin on your throat, you can do this exercise with your mouth open for an extra workout.
Jack then goes on to tell a funny story about an article a magazine wrote about him which showed him doing a funny face as part of his face exercises, but didn’t actually mention that he was doing a face exercise! He wonders what first time viewers would think if they switched on while he was doing his face exercises.
Jack tenses all the muscles in his face, does some mouth exercises and has a little joke with the audience.
Jack ends bending over and patting his face to increase blood flow to the skin of the face.
28
Jack talks about people who have looked 10 years younger after a few weeks of doing the following facial toning exercise to firm up their neck.
A neck that is flabby and has sagging skin can make a person look older than they are, but fortunately, the muscles in the neck respond faster to exercise than any other muscles of the face, and so the neck muscles are often the first to show visible results from face toning workouts.
Lying down, lift your head so that your chin touches your chest and then turn your head from left to right. This movement exercises your neck and the area underneath your chin.
29
Facial toning exercise for sagging cheeks and to firm up a double chin and get rid of double chins.
Lying on the floor on your back, put a book in your mouth and hold it between your teeth. Now lift your head up towards your chest and then lower it back down again in a nodding motion.
30
Facial exercise to firm up the chin and throat area.
Standing up, put your head back as far as you can and then open and close your mouth as though you were chewing on something. Different chewing actions will exercise different regions of the face, and you should be able to feel this as you do this particular face exercise movement.
Jack shows a good face exercise to do for a saggy throat. Push your chin down onto your chest as though you were holding a book with your chin, then turn your head from left to right.
Now something for the back of the neck.
Straightening the back of the neck will help you to stand tall and improve your posture. When you lean forward or slouch you encourage the skin to slouch and sag down with you.
To do this particular face exercise, stand with your legs apart and put your hands on your knees so that you are slightly bent forward over them. In this position, lift up your head and lower it, repeating this movement several times.
Jack then goes on to his mouth open mouth close exercise saying that this particular face exercise is very good to help make you look more youthful and will benefit all areas of your face such as your forehead, eyes and jowls.
Finally, Jack ends by bending over at the waist and patting his face to increase blood circulation to the face.

Jack Lalanne celebrates his 95th birthday live on air. He talks about how often he exercises and says that being active is the key to a long life.
This is a good video to watch as it shows just how good Jack’s skin looks at age 95. It would be interesting to know if Jack used any moisturizers or creams on his face as throughout his life he spent quite a lot of time out in the sun which is known to be harmful to the skin and contribute towards premature aging.
If he didn’t use any special lotions, then someone who does these facial exercises and uses modern-day beauty products is likely to get even better results.
